Types of U.S. Student Visas

F-1 Student Visa
The F-1 visa is the most common option for students planning to study full-time at a U.S. college, university, language school, or other academic institution. It allows you to live in the U.S. for the duration of your studies, work on campus, and gain real work experience through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

M-1 Vocational Student Visa
The M-1 visa is for students enrolling in vocational or technical programs, such as culinary schools, mechanical courses, or trade schools. Unlike the F-1 visa, M-1 students are not allowed to work during their studies, and their stay is limited to the duration of their program.
